Furry Family Members

Monday evening, I got home very late feeling very down in the dumps. I'd met with the surgeon, and my gal bladder surgery is officially a go for this Friday. A couple of girls from work convinced me to go out to dinner and a movie after work; I spent most of this time warring with myself over the surgery. What if I felt worse post-op- I can't undo a surgery! What if I don't recover quickly enough to get back to work before my bills get the best of me? What if I don't recover quickly enough to move less than a month from now? I'd pretty much convinced myself to take the cowards way out and cancel the whole thing, despite the raging pain in my abdomen. Then, midway through the upbeat singing of Mama Mia! (definitely worth seeing, by the way), I had to dart from the theater to the bathroom, where I lost my entire dinner.
So, surgery is a go then!
I dragged my butt back to the apartment, way past my bedtime, completely down in the dumps. Appalled by my lateness in getting home, Kody darted to the door and told me off until I picked him up. He started to purr and head butt my cheek. Luna, from her spot on the couch, completely lit up. She sat at my feet, waiting, until she couldn't take it anymore and jumped up, wrapping her arms around my waist in a doggy hug. Tabitha rolled around on the floor next to me, chirping, and Bouvre ran in circles around all of us, while Buddy watched from a safe distance. I plopped down on the chair and Kody and Tabitha immediately claimed my lap, purring and giving kisses. Bouvre leaped to the arm of the chair and started to rub his head all over my arm, meowing for attention. Luna plopped on the other side, and rolled over for a belly rub. And Buddy sat at my feet watching. It's wonderful to come home to such warmth and love.
Stress? Worry? With such a wonderful furry family that loves me, it's hard to remember why I stress at all. Because at the end of the day, all that is left is my cozy little family!
Unconditional love- how can you beat that? :)
