In an effort to negate my negativity from the past few posts, enjoy a few happy / productive / upbeat / random snippets:
- This evening, I channeled my nervous energy into productivity, and selected 6 veterinary clinics to receive my "first wave" of resumes. I picked these out based on their accreditation's, website/service quality, reviews and proximity to home and school. The plan is to get resume paper tomorrow, and mail them out on Tuesday. Major accomplishment, since I have not been very focused on looking for a new job, mostly because I do not want a new job- I just want my current job to move south with me!
- I spent most of today at a baby shower for my friend Libby, who has dreamed of being a mother her entire life. It was great to see her looking so beautiful, happy and excited! That family has many years of joy to come. And it was great to catch up with my winsome friend Jenny during the trip! (I love that word- winsome! So descriptive.)
- I actually did tons of laundry in the meantime, which means that I will actually grab scrubs out of the closet tomorrow morning, instead of grabbing them, still damp and wrinkled, from the dryer five minutes before I have to head out the door, frantically fanning them around to rid them of the dampness and wrinkles. Yay!
- Not quite funny to me, but possibly very funny to you: while running around in the early morning rain, I skidded on the wet cement, my shoes flew out from underneath me and the ensuing spectacular wipe out has left most of my lower body, elbows and hands covered in scrapes. Definitely an America's Funniest Home Videos moment. Minus the swearing, of course!
- And finally, I must reveal a little known fact about me: my sleep is really screwed up. I vary between insomnia and hypersomnia. I have vivid dreams and talk in my sleep. I've been told that I sleep like an eggbeater on caffeine. AND, I have been known to sleepwalk, though the instances have spread out as I have gotten older and now only seem to occur every couple of years (that I know of!). Well, two nights ago I had two sleepwalking episodes. Jon came into the bedroom at three am to find me rooting through the closet and dumping out drawers, claiming to be looking for someone that I had to find. He coaxed sleep-me back to bed. At five-thirty am, he heard me doing the same thing from the living room and had to again coax me back to my bed. Other than the MESS I woke up to in the morning, I have no memory of this! Apparently, I feel the need to create more work for myself in my sleep! :) Hilarious.... but at least I am probably good until 2010!
