Well, so much for trying to write in my blog often- I've hardly posted anything this month. Everything has been insanely busy, so here are the highlights of my month so far.
-Determinedly ate ice cream outside in my determination to pretend that early March really does mean spring.
-I managed snag more than one long lost friend for an impromptu lunch/bonding time. Hurray!
-Have made three attempts to pay my car taxes and renew my driver's license- long lines, missing ATM card and unexpected work days have interfered. I'm hoping for the best this week, because April is looming and I can't exactly drive without my license and registration!
-Went on a rant because Indian Blessing was ranked way down on the national standings after one second place finish. This was supposedly warranted because she is now considered more of a sprinter and not a Kentucky Oaks candidate. Stupid me, I keep forgetting that there are only two "important" female horse races a year and neither are for sprinters. They might as well cancel the Test Stakes by that logic, huh? But War Pass finishes dead last in a race and only drops one place, because he is still considered a Kentucky Derby candidate. I know some races are more important that others, but my God!
-I went to see a high school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and became very nostalgic about my own theatre days.
-Discovered that I can jump five feet in the air when startled- particularly when a dogs heart stops beating during anesthesia. (Don't worry, we brought him back)
-Spent 2.5 hours last week cleaning one cat cage. I was simultaneously impressed by the lengths some go for cleanliness and horrified that I had nothing to show for 2.5 hours of work except for one clean cage.
-Managed to have family in town for one week with no major damage to my sanity. Now THAT is a miracle!
-Developed a new twitch in my eye that resolved when Jon's bloodwork improved.
-In the past month, I can not remember a day where I did not get to work early, stay late and/or skip half or more of my lunch break to make sure all of the animals were cared for. I even skipped my week-end off, which I usually look forward to with glee! The strangest thing is that this was all fine with me, although I am very tired!
-Desperately tried to avoid noticing that it will not stop SNOWING.
We'll see what next week brings!
