Over the past few days of puppy-sitting, this little guy has taught me a lot. So now for some puppy wisdom:
-If someone is nice and willing to play with you, do it! With puppies, there is no mistrust whatsoever. Little "Spike," (as my grandfather has decided to call him) has been lucky enough to have his half brother and sister at the clinic with him every day to play with. Though they had never met before, they cuddle and play and lick like they've been together their whole lives!
-Forgiveness is the most important thing; without it, you lose a lot of potential play time, so why dwell on it? Which is why, even after Spike's two week older half brother decided to assert dominance and PEE on him, thus subjecting him to the awful indignity of a both, there were no hard feelings!
Well, not towards his brother or his humans anyway! The water, on the other hand, was yelled at quite a bit!
-Life is too short, so play and love with all of your might! Run and laugh and cuddle and bark, and at the end of the day, pass out into the sweetest, deepest, most restful sleep possible. Insomnia is not in a puppies vocabulary, and why should it be? When you enjoy life that much, there is no reason to disturb your sleep with worries!
-Friends come in all shapes and sizes. Spike doesn't care if you are black, green, orange or blue. Adult, child, senior citizen, dog, cat or bird- everyone is a potential friend. Because of Spike, I have gotten to know a lot more of my neighbors, and have found out that my apartment complex holds a ton of kids! Who knew?
Eat, love, sleep, play and be adored by all those around you? Oh, for the life of a puppy!

LOVE IT. I totally agree with all of these points. As much as I adore my kitties, it's my dogs that get me out of bed in the morning, force me to talk to other people, and show me that every day is The Best Day Ever!
So glad that you're having fun and can't wait to meet the little guy!
